Abstract
In this paper we aim at exploring the impact of transponders and 3R (re-timing, re-shaping, re-amplification) power consumption on the transmission’s power efficiency for the set of link’s length and on the optical bandwidth required for the allocation of the wavelength channels which number is chosen in order to minimize the overall energy consumption.
