Abstract
Typical error of high precision positioning with the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is currently about +/ − 1 . . . 2 cm in real time; multipath reflections from the Earth surface underlaying the receiver antenna is the largest error source. Newly developed compact low-loss rover antennas and reference station antennas are presented. The developed antennas with cutoff pattern potentially bring the millimeter precision in “almost” real time to the realm of practice. With the antennas, precision achieved is estimated to be of 0.65 mm in rms sense given phase noise of the system smoothed out within a time interval of 1 minute span.
