Short Oral - 3-minute Oral Presentation + Poster (Students are encouraged to join EM Academy Educational Program)

As part of our EM Academy's education effects, we encourage professors to train their students well in both effective oral presentation and poster presentation. Thus, we encourage all graduate students to participate in a 3-minute Oral Presentation before the Poster Session on the same day. If the presenting author is a student, the paper (if accepted and selected) will be scheduled in a mini-oral presentation session before the Poster Session where a committee will interact with these students with questions on the same day. To encourage graduate students to participate this activity, a sufficient number of students who did well in both the oral presentation and the poster presentation will be selected for awards. The committee will discuss and vote for the winners of the Best Student Presentation Awards in the same day. Please click here to view details guidelines. If some students do not want to participate this program, please select either Oral or Poster option.

7. Best Student Presentation Awards (details)

A student competing for Best Student Presentation Awards must be listed as the first author as well as the presenting author of a paper submitted for poster presentation. The Awards Committee will select a certain number of poster papers to form several sessions. Every BSPTA applicant in each session will give a short summary oral presentation in ppt (3 minutes countdown timer will be set for each presenter), and no time for questions will be provided.

8. Young Scientist Award (details)

The applicant must have PhD degree in science/engineering and under 35 years of age by the conference date. The applicant must be listed as the first author as well as the presenting author of a paper presentation. A curriculum vitae with publication list must be submitted together with the abstract. A full-length paper of 5-10 pages should be submitted by the full-length paper submission deadline and registered by the pre-registration deadline. This full-length paper can be either unpublished or published within one year before the conference dates. If it is an arXiv paper, it should be also archived within one year before the conference. For this PIERS 2026 in Suzhou, the published date should be after July 26, 2025. The YSA full papers are to be reviewed only by the judges. Published papers will not be included in PIERS Proceedings.
