Parallel Plate Waveguide Simulations

1. Matlab Scripts

Right click to download the following MATLAB Scripts:
waveguide.m
replay.m
suptitle.m


In the matlab window, execute the script by typing

>> waveguide


The script will then prompt you for several parameters to generate the matlab movies.

Warning: The matlab movie variable generated will be very large. If you are using a machine that does not have much memory, you may want to use the option of not storing the movie variable, however in this case you will not be able to use the replay script (see below).

The script will automatically replay the movie twice after all computation is done. To replay the movie again, type

>> replay


You can also set the frame rate (FPS) and number of times for replay to repeat the movie by setting the variables FPS and N, e.g.

>> FPS = 1; N = 2;


In this case the movie is played at 1 frame per second 2 times. This is the default setting.

Below are some images and movies I generated using the matlab script. The movies files are available in both mpeg and avi format. The mpeg files are much smaller in size (300 Kb-1200 Kb) but the quality is not as good as the avi files which are much larger (18 Mb - 35 Mb). I recommend downloading the avi files if you have a fast connection to the internet. Otherwise, you can always use the matlab script files to generate your own movies.
